Welcome to the Public Library Learning Community

Welcome to the home of e-learning@PLA, a collaborative learning environment designed specifically for public library managers and staff members. Here you will find not only tools and resources, but also a community of people with whom you can share your experiences and concerns. The current offerings on this site focus on strategic planning and management issues, but as the site grows you will also find programs on professional growth and development.

All of the e-learning@PLA courses are available now. All of the courses are:

  • Interactive
  • Short: most can be completed in 30-60 minutes
  • Available on demand
  • Reasonably priced:
    PLA Members, $39 each; any 3 classes for $99*
    ALA Members, $59; 3 for $149*
    Nonmembers, $79; 3 for $199*

*The three-class offer is for the same person registering for three different classes, or 3 different people from the same library registering for the same course or 3 different courses at the same time.
